In short
- Three cookies are strictly necessary: one keeps you signed in, one remembers your answer to the cookie question, and one remembers a friend’s invite if you open their link. They don’t need your consent.
- Google Analytics cookies are set only if you accept them. You can change your mind at any time.
- No advertising cookies, no tracking across websites.
What cookies are
Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. Some are needed for a site to work, such as keeping you signed in. Others measure how a site is used, or track you for advertising. We use the first kind, the second only with your consent, and the third not at all.
The cookies we set
Sign-in session
Strictly necessary
Keeps you signed in to your account on this site. Set only when you sign in, once sign-in opens at launch.
Lasts: Until you sign out, or the session expires
Cookie choice (rc_consent)
Strictly necessary
Remembers whether you accepted or declined analytics cookies, so the site doesn’t ask on every page.
Lasts: 6 months, then the site asks again
A friend’s invite (rc_ref)
Strictly necessary
Remembers the invite code of a friend’s link you opened, and when you opened it, so an account you create after that gets their invite (an account you already had does not). Set only when you open an invite link, and removed once you sign in.
Lasts: 60 days, or until you sign in
Google Analytics (_ga, _ga_P0YKQF82DE)
Analytics, with your consent
Tell one visit from another with a random number, so we can count visits and see which pages are read. Set only if you accept.
Lasts: 13 months, or until you withdraw consent
UK law (the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations) allows strictly necessary cookies without consent, because the service you asked for can’t work without them. Until you sign in, answer the cookie question or open a friend’s invite link, rapidcreate.io sets no cookies.
Analytics
With your consent, we use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read, so we can improve them. Until you accept, Google Analytics isn’t loaded at all: nothing is stored on your device and nothing is sent to Google. If you choose “No thanks”, it stays that way.
If you accept, Google Analytics sets the cookies listed above. They hold a random number that tells one visit from another. We don’t use them for advertising, we have switched off Google’s advertising features and signals, and Google Analytics doesn’t store your IP address.
We also count page views with Vercel Web Analytics, which uses no cookies and can’t recognise you on a later visit.
Changing your choice
You can change your answer at any time. If you withdraw consent, Google Analytics stops and its cookies are deleted from this browser.
The same control is at the foot of every page. The site asks again after six months, and you can also block or delete cookies in your browser’s settings. If you block the sign-in cookie, you won’t be able to stay signed in to your account on this site. The rest of the site works without it.
Other websites
When you pay, you do so on a checkout page run by our payment provider, Stripe. If you sign in with Google, you do so on Google’s pages. Those pages set their own cookies under Stripe’s and Google’s cookie policies, not this one.
Changes and contact
If we add a cookie that isn’t strictly necessary, we’ll update this page first and ask for your consent before setting it. Questions: support@rapidcreate.io.
